Spectrum customers are given a firewall-protected Web portal for authorized users to retrieve files whenever they’re needed. Our flexible system utilizes the latest security technology to create password-protected profiles for small to large groups. We’ll design a system that’s scalable to your organizations needs.
Files are retrieved instantly through a secure Web browser. Using advanced navigation and search functions, users can search through document collections, single documents or sections inside documents, then view results in your web browser.
Spectrum Information Services Network Security
Physical Security
Currently we have our web portal servers located at a Data Center in Irvine, CA. We are in our own secured cabinet, where only the IT staff has the combination. To access the data center you must have a badge or must be authorized. Security at the data center will verify identity using a government issued identification.
Network Security
All Spectrum equipment is behind a Cisco Pix 525 Firewall. Only HTTPS ports are open on the firewall to maximize security. The firewall can only be configured by Brian Lipscomb, so as to prevent unauthorized changes to the configuration.
There is no direct access to the database server from the Internet. For Spectrum staff to work on the database, they must first connect via VPN.
The Spectrum office is behind one additional firewall to maximize security of where documents are being processed and being prepared for upload.
Transport Security
All interaction with the web portal servers is done over a 128 bit encrypted SSL session so that usernames, passwords and documents are protected from any sort of packet snooping.
Data Security
The web servers are backed up on a daily basis to encrypted media that is taken offsite on a weekly basis.
Any web portals that are not in use, are removed from the web server within 10 business days of the client requesting the service to be cancelled. This ensures that data cannot be mistakenly accessed in the future. |
